Dear Partners and Community Members,
As part of our continued commitment to transparency and excellence in service, we are pleased to share that after a thorough search and selection process, Shiara Jackson has been appointed as the Executive Director of Advocates for Homeless Families.
Shiara has served as Interim Executive Director since earlier this year, providing strong leadership and a renewed sense of purpose to our organization. During this time, she has demonstrated exceptional dedication to our mission of empowering families to achieve stability, independence, and lasting self-sufficiency. Her experience, compassion, and vision for growth will be instrumental as Advocates enters its next chapter.
We would once again like to extend our sincere appreciation to Ken Allread, who retired after more than 10 years of service as Executive Director. His leadership and commitment helped shape the foundation upon which Advocates continues to build today.
The Board of Directors is confident that under Shiara’s guidance, Advocates for Homeless Families will continue to strengthen its impact, expand its programs, and serve as a beacon of hope for families across Frederick County.
We thank our community partners, donors, and supporters for their continued encouragement and belief in our mission. Together, we will continue working toward a future where every family has the opportunity to thrive.
Warm regards,
The Board of Directors
Advocates for Homeless Families
