Frederick, MD – Dearbought Community residents recently held a fundraising event to benefit Advocates for Homeless Families, Inc. Highlighted as “Paws on the Path,” the event raised nearly $200 and brought together 15 families and their pets who walked a two mile stretch covering the Monocacy River Path and routes in the community. According to the event organizer, Lynn Cavanaugh, “We are fortunate to have a path that runs along the Monocacy River. Many families here are dog owners and use the path for exercise and enjoyment. This year I felt the need to bring these families together and join in an effort to raise money for homeless families in Frederick.” Sponsors of the event were: Two Paws Up!; Truefitdogcoats; The Dawg Wash, and Dogs In Paradise, Inc.

Advocates for Homeless Families’ mission is to empower motivated families to overcome homelessness. Families achieve success through a structured two-year program of education, housing, and support services.
