Frederick, MD -- City Magnolia Day Spa, Urbana, MD, recently raised $1,500 in proceeds from a full day of services to benefit Advocates for Homeless Families. Co-owners, Aubrey Rogers and Beth Mackey, selected Advocates as the beneficiary for its mission of serving Frederick County families who are working toward overcoming homelessness.
“We knew we wanted to support Advocates for Homeless Families because they are a grassroots organization. They are helping people right here in Frederick County. People we may know,” said Beth Mackey. “Sometimes people just need a little help getting back on their feet. Especially when there are children involved.”
City Magnolia Day Spa will continue to raise funds for Advocates throughout the holiday season by selling glass ornaments. The Spa’s staff has also adopted a family for the holiday season. “I am so proud of our staff,” said Rogers, “we are in the business of healing so I knew we had a team of givers, but they continue to impress me. They recognize the importance of the work that Advocates for Homeless Families is doing. We are all proud to support this cause.”
Advocates for Homeless Families’ mission is to empower motivated families to overcome homelessness. Families achieve success through a structured two-year program of education, housing, and support services. For more information: 301/662-2003, www.afhf88.org.
